Frequently asked questions
What does LiveStreamCC do?
It transcribes spoken audio on your computer into subtitles in real time. Streamers can show captions on their own broadcast, and viewers can add captions to a live stream that doesn't provide any.
What's the difference between the two modes?
Streamer mode captions your microphone while you broadcast and sends the result to OBS, an overlay, or a dedicated window. Viewer mode captures your system audio and shows captions locally for whatever you're watching.
What platforms does it support?
LiveStreamCC is a desktop app launching on Windows first. macOS support is planned for a later release. There is no mobile version.
Does it cost anything?
There is a free tier with daily transcription minutes, plus paid subscription plans for people who need more time and provider options. Specific pricing will be announced at launch.
Which languages can it caption?
LiveStreamCC detects the spoken language automatically at the start of a session, transcribes in that language, and lets you lock a language manually if you prefer.
Can I use it with OBS?
Yes. Captions can be sent to an OBS browser source, shown as a transparent always-on-top overlay, or displayed in a dedicated window you can capture.
How is my data handled?
Your audio is streamed through our backend to a third-party speech-to-text provider to generate captions, and transcripts are saved locally on your device by default. The full details are in our privacy policy.
